WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

The Student and Professional Organization of Trinidad and Tobago was founded in 2012 by a handful of Trinidad and Tobago nationals who were at the time all university students were based in Washington, D.C. and New York.  Having met each other at the event at the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington DC, they came together after seeing the need for the diaspora to be engaged to contribute to national development.

 

They also recognized the need for a borderless medium to be created so that Trinidad and Tobago students and young professionals to be mentored by TT professionals who were already leaders in their respective fields.

 

Given these objectives SPOTT has over the years collaborated with the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington, D.C., as well as other like-minded organizations and individuals in furtherance of the ultimate goal of facilitating the diaspora to become more active in contributing to Trinidad and Tobago.
